Leon Bontrager
President
Leon Bontrager has over a decade of experience in designing and installing renewable energy systems. Leon is one of only seven NABCEP certified solar installers in Indiana and was featured by the Union of Concerned Scientists as one of only 20 nationwide “Faces of Renewable Energy” as a person working and making a difference in renewable energy. He is a founding board member and Treasurer of the Indiana Renewable Energy Association (InREA), a statewide organization that focuses on service and public education of renewable energy. Leon also owns and operates Firefly Integrations', specializing in advanced, customized solutions for mobile electrical and automation needs. Leon and his wife Ellen are the parents of six energetic boys.
Steve Kooistra
Master Technician
Steve Kooistra brings 13 years of electrical and construction experience to Home Energy LLC. He is a graduate of Houghton College and is a licensed Master Electrician with vast experience working with AC and DC power. Steve leads the installation and service of our solar and wind power systems, completing projects on schedule and up to codes.
Larry Wenger
Master Electrician
Larry Wenger brings over 18 years of electrical trade experience to Home Energy LLC. He has completed a 5 year apprenticeship and has an Associate Degree from Ivy Tech in Applied Science. Larry is a Master electrician in Indiana and Michigan. He is currently working on getting his NABCEP certificate. Larry and his wife, Amy, are the parents of three children.
Russ Draper
Renewable Energy Consultant
Russ Draper brings 17 years of parts, service and sales management experience to Home Energy LLC. He is responsible for the development and continued growth of residential and commercial sales. As a 20 year resident of the Goshen and Middlebury area, Russ has a person knowledge of the residential and commercial market in the surrounding area. Russ is a graduate of Trinity College in Deerfield, Illinois. He and his wife, Gail, have three children and are the proud grandparents of one granddaughter.
Marvin Weirich
Accounting Manager
Marvin Weirich brings over 30 years of accounting experience and involvement with small businesses to Home Energy LLC. Detail-oriented, he strives to provide excellent service to Home Energy's customers and vendors. Besides his accounting experience, Marvin also has construction experience and is a licensed Master Electrician. He is also involved on the board of a national charitable organization as Secretary/Treasurer. Marvin and his wife, Sharon, are the parents of two boys and are the grandparents of one granddaughter.
Austin Williams
Financial Manager
Austin Williams is the financial guru for Home Energy LLC. Well versed in the financial aspects of renewable investments, Austin works to secure funding, perform detailed analysis, and create financial proposals for your renewable solution. Austin remains fascinated with the creation and development of new technologies that profoundly affect the world around us. He enjoys working closely with our customers to increase our renewable impact across Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois. Austin studied at Purdue University's school of technology.
Amy Tohulka
Marketing Manager
Amy Tohulka, a graduate of Purdue University, is Marketing Manager at Home Energy LLC. She brings over 5 years of experience in website design, advertising, marketing and graphic design to Home Energy. She is responsible for planning and developing marketing materials and programs including brochures, website, trade shows, seminars and anything else that may come up.
